Embroidery fabrics are fabrics that make it easier for you to create beautiful embroidery. We sell different types of fabric that are easy to embroider beautiful designs on. The type of fabric determines how easy it is to embroider and how the end result will look.
If you are dexterous and used to working with needle and thread, you can choose a fabric type for very small stitches. If you're a beginner, however, you'll find fabric types to help you make a success of your first embroidery attempt.
Make it easy with Aida embroidery fabric
The easiest fabric for embroidery is Aida fabric. Aida fabric is made from cotton and has clear squares drawn on it so you have something to follow along with your project. The squares make it super easy for you to embroider your designs because you can measure your patterns with the squares in the fabric.
The larger the squares in the Aida fabric, the easier it is to embroider on, while smaller squares in the fabric give you a finer embroidery.
Therefore, there is Aida fabric for both beginners and experienced sewers. We sell fabric in many different colors and textures, so you can find the perfect embroidery fabric for your project.
Remember to check the embroidery fabric's stitch gauge
Embroidery fabric is made for specific stitch widths. Therefore, you need to be aware of this before you buy our beautiful products. Under each type of fabric, you can see how many stitches that particular fabric is designed for. The most common stitch size is 5.4 stitches per centimeter, and you can get both Aida fabric and other inexpensive embroidery fabrics with this stitch size.
However, you can get fabric types that require both fewer and more stitches, depending on your embroidery needle and thread skills. It's the stitch width that will determine how complicated it is to embroider on your fabric. We have inexpensive embroidery fabric for every project.
Different types of embroidery fabric give different looks
In addition to the density of stitches in your embroidery fabric, you also need to consider the color and texture. Cotton or linen are the most commonly used fabrics for embroidery. However, linen often requires a bit of experience, but it also produces a similarly beautiful result.
If you are embroidering the Christmas tree blanket or Christmas socks, a coarser type of fabric is often used for embroidery. This type of embroidery fabric is also known as jute canvas or hessian and is a natural plant fiber. The coarser fabric also makes it easier for beginners to create beautiful family Christmas items because the stitches need to be larger.
However, if you're interested in making a very delicate and detailed embroidery, you'll need to choose one of our finer embroidery fabrics.
Create beautiful designs on sewing card
With sewing cardboard, you can create beautiful embroideries without having to worry about fabric. You can embroider directly onto the cardboard, which holds your design in place and makes it easy to control. The cardboard already has holes in the squares, making it easy to follow your design no matter what you come up with.
Sewing cardboard with printed designs makes it easy for children and kids at heart to get started. Your projects can then be hung in frames or used to make beautiful cards.
We sell both sewing cardboard with and without motifs.
