Because the thin wooden needles are extra fragile and can break - both on the needle itself and at the join - it's important to be careful not to knit with yarn that's too thick or heavy, and also to make sure you store your needles in a rigid case so they won't break when you're not using them. KnitPro makes wooden pegs down to thin sizes, these are very fragile and should be used with care. For a KnitPro stick to be exchangeable, it must be due to a manufacturing defect.
